Charlottesville, VA… March 4, 2026… The Rivanna Solid Waste Authority is pleased to announce extended operating hours at the McIntire Recycling Center. Beginning Monday, March 9, the Center will be open from 8:30 AM until 6:30 PM. This is one hour later than its usual closing time of 5:30 PM.

The change allows local residents to take advantage of the brighter evenings with the upcoming shift in time due to Daylight Saving.

The McIntire Recycling Center will return to standard hours (8:30 AM to 5:30 PM) on Monday, November 2, with the end of Daylight Saving Time.

The facility, which offers composting and recycling options to city and county residents, is centrally located at 611 McIntire Road, Charlottesville, VA. The facility is open Wednesday through Monday and closed on Tuesdays.
