Special Collection Event: Appliances

Albemarle County, City of Charlottesville, and Town of Scottsville residents are invited to dispose of their old, outdated, and broken appliances on Saturday, May 2, 2026, between the hours of 8:30 AM and 4 PM. Please bring help to unload. Staff are unable to assist during this event. The free bi-annual event accepts refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, kitchen stoves, furnaces, water heaters, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, heat pumps, microwaves, vacuum cleaners, and toasters. The collection will take place at the Ivy Solid Waste & Recycling Center, located at 4576 Dick Woods Road, Charlottesville, Virginia. Commercial participation is prohibited.
