Charlottesville, VA… March 7, 2025… The Rivanna Solid Waste Authority is pleased to announce extended operating hours at the McIntire Recycling Center. Beginning Monday, March 10, the Center will remain open until 6:30 PM. This is one hour later than its usual closing time of 5:30 PM.
The change coincides with Daylight Savings Time and allows local residents to take advantage of the brighter evenings.
The McIntire Recycling Center will return to standard hours (8:30am to 5:30pm) on November 3rd with the end of Daylight Savings Time.
The facility, which offers composting and recycling options to city and county residents, is centrally located at 611 McIntire Road, Charlottesville, VA. The center is open Wednesday through Monday and closed on Tuesdays.
